Welcome to our home page

farmAbergavenny Artists is a web-site designed to promote the art work of local artists both professional and amateur and to provide a "hub" from which links can be made to artists in Abergavenny and its surrounding areas.

There are numerous professional artists living and working in and around Abergavenny and they welcome your interest in their work and invite you to browse this site.  Under normal circumstances they would welcome you calling in to visit their workshops, studios and galleries to see their work first hand.  Locations and contact details are given.

However, with the Covid-19 pandemic causing us to stop at home or seriously limit our movement things are very different.  Working from home and being an artist are not mutually exclusive.  As long as enthusiasm and innovation are still present, our creativeness to make art thrives.  Accordingly you will see within this website a Covid Lockdown influence in some of the pictures.  The above watercolour painting is entitled "Farm" by  Dot Powell who is a member of Abergavenny Art Group.

hurst springAbergavenny Art Group consists of like minded people who get together to discuss their work and exchange advice and tips. There are professional artists who want to encourage and help others develop their skills; amateur artists who want to improve their skills; and beginners who want to learn to paint, draw or express their ideas on canvas.  The adjacent mixed media painting entitled "Spring at Home" is by John Hurst who is a member of the Art Group.
